by Phill Edwards & Steve Crawford
This was the 21st eclipse of Saros 145.
Totality lasted about 2 minutes from our viewpoint.
This was Phill's first ever eclipse. He stood in the shadow of the moon on Slapton Sands beach in South Devon. The eclipse was completely clouded out. Phill just got a few glimpses of the partial phases. Totality was still spectacular. The moon shadow effect was awesome and a bit disturbing. It got very dark. As a result of this Phill resolved to see the next eclipse and so he started the eclipse chasing.
