We were supposed to dock at Grundarfjördur on Sunday 22 March 2015. The winds were too strong for the ship to dock so we proceeded to Reykjavík. This gave us an opportunity to do another night time Aurora watch. Jacky organised a private tour with a local guide and friend called Omar.
We had a spectacular view of the crescent moon, Venus and Orion. It was very cold. On two occasions some of us went into the van to warm up. On both occasions the lights started a spectacular display for us!
Notice the reds and purples in the photographs. The human eye can only normally see the greens. The camera brings out more detail. One of the few occasions where a camera outdoes the eye!
